As part of the Montessori primary curriculum the children are encouraged to organise their own trips. Amanda in Year 6 helped by Alice in Year 5 organised this trip. From making the initial phone calls, follow up emails, risk assessments, costings and permission letters to parents. We had a fantastic time!
We were greeted and made to feel special. It was an extremely positive learning experience. Each child was given time to make an individual pizza with plenty of choice of toppings, then they were cooked and devoured by very hungry children. After we were provided with boxes for leftover pizza, certificates, badges and curly straws and we all left with an ice cream of our choice. We are now planning to make it an annual event!
On Saturday 17th June many of our parents and children came to help and support our Open Day. There was a teddy bear’s picnic, face painting, cakes, tombola, guide dogs and a country dancing display performed by the primary children. We were able to welcome prospective parents and give them a tour of the nursery and school and also many ex pupils came to visit
On Thursday 15th June the children in the nursery ran for 1 hour for Cancer Research. Some did not stop for the whole hour making us all very proud of their achievements. Meanwhile the KS1 and KS2 ran up to 3k around the field at Northleigh House School. We are still collecting in all the sponsorship money and will update the website when we have our total.
